Solution: kbind

• syscall to do PLT/GOT update

  • kbind(void *addr, size_t len, void *data)

    • address and length of memory to update

    • buffer of copy there

• performs same permission checks and copy-on-write handling as mprotect and page fault

• uninterruptible: no signal issues

• VM and pmap have to provide whatever locking is necessary in kernel
